During this stage, what toddlers need the most is to have a sense of trust and security in the learning environment. Thus, it is important for the teachers and staff to create a positive and nurturing, learning environment in which toddlers feel emotionally safe. Building and supporting the toddlers' sense of self (identity), sense of self with others, and self-worth is the emphasis in the Busy Bees class as they engage in play.
The intent of this program is to support and nurture young children's social and emotional skills, and at the same time, to provide meaningful and challenging learning experiences that foster their emergent math and literacy skills, process skills, as well as problem-solving skills.Character building is also an integral part of the curriculum.
Pre-K children will be provided with a broad range of educational experiences that promote school readiness, cognitive and language, academics, aesthetics & creativity, as well as socio-emotional and psycho-motor domains. Physical well-being, health, and safety activities, approaches to learning that foster the child's emotional/motivational and behavioral dimensions of learning, anti-bias principles, as well as positive character traits are integrated in the pre-k curriculum. These are all essential in children's transition to Kindergarten.
